Neighborhood Watch Commander

The Neighborhood Watch (NW) was formed as part of the Resident Council when it was founded in January 2023. The watch is completely made up of volunteer residents and has no affiliation with the Burlington Housing Authority.

The primary mission of the Neighborhood Watch is to assist with the security of Decker Towers. We are the "eyes and ears" of the residents. The NW only reports incidents that relate to the safety of the residents in Decker Towers, particularly when it involves people entering the building who are not residents or invited guest. It also reports building maintenance issues when they are encountered. It does not report minor rule violations or get involved in tenant to tenant disputes.

AlAll residents are considered part o f the Neighborhood Watch but to volunteer for patrols, residents should coordinate with the NW Commander and read and understand the guidelines listed in the NW Standard Operating procedures manual.
